As a creator, I’m always looking for ways to grow, evolve, and push my craft to the next level. Along the way, I’ve discovered something just as rewarding as pursuing my own creative goals — helping others do the same. That’s why I created shoots by soph: a space for fellow creatives to come together to find inspiration, build their skills (and portfolios!), and create work they’re truly proud of.
Starting out as a photographer or videographer isn’t easy. Building a portfolio that reflects your unique style & truly feels like you — takes time, opportunities, and the right environment to experiment and learn.
I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel, which is why shoots by soph are designed to make that process simpler and more fun. These shoots are all about making it easier for you to build a portfolio you’re proud of, without the stress of planning every detail on your own.
One of my greatest joys is bringing people together, and here in Charleston, that means connecting with the incredible creative community we’re lucky to have. This is my way of bringing photographers, videographers, and creatives together to collaborate, learn from each other, and connect with those who share the same passions.

From choosing your sessions to capturing your dream shots, the day is designed to be seamless, fun, and inspiring. Whether you’re joining for one shoot or all three, you’ll have everything you need to build your portfolio and explore your creativity in a stress-free environment. Here’s how it works:

You have the flexibility to join for 1, 2, or all 3 shoots in a single day — it’s totally up to you! Each session is designed to be relaxed and give you plenty of time to create at your own pace.

Dreamy Treehouse In the Oaks
Featured in The Notebook and renowned for its beauty, you’ll capture this one-of-a-kind treehouse setting in soft, ethereal morning light. With floor-to-ceiling antique farmhouse windows, a sparkling crystal chandelier, and twinkling fairy lights, every detail feels magical. Outdoor gas lamps and moss-draped oaks add to the enchanting atmosphere, while the shabby chic decor and copper tub complete the romantic vibe. Featuring two female models, this shoot invites you to capture serene, light-filled moments in a space designed to inspire.
The Estate & The Vintage Bronco
This midday session takes place on the grand lawn of Charleston’s iconic Lowndes Grove estate, with its sweeping Ashley River views and 18th-century architecture as your backdrop. A beautifully restored vintage Ford Bronco brings a nostalgic charm to this elegant yet timeless scene, and the bright, crisp midday light provides the perfect opportunity to play with bold and vibrant tones. Golden Hour Garden Soirée
As the sun sets over the Ashley River, the grounds of Lowndes Grove transform into a dreamy, intimate garden soirée. Imagine string lights sparkling overhead, fresh flowers adorning the tables, and candles creating a warm, inviting glow. Handwritten place settings add a personal touch, while the golden hour light bathes the scene in soft warmth. As twilight falls, the gentle flicker of fairy lights and candles takes over, providing a magical atmosphere to close out the day. Every session is packed with carefully curated, high-quality details — from antique furniture and dreamy decor to fresh florals. Each shoot is thoughtfully designed to spark creativity with thoughtful, special touches, curated props, and unique themes.
Some sessions feature luxury vintage vehicles (courtesy of WhipDash) or take place at Airbnb locations to elevate the setting and create one-of-a-kind backdrops for your work. You’ll leave feeling recharged and full of ideas for your next project! -

You’ll also have the chance to learn from & collaborate with the other creators attending the shoot. Whether it’s sharing techniques and pose ideas, hyping each other up, or bouncing ideas around, this is about growing together!

Start your day surrounded by peace and inspiration at this one-of-a-kind treehouse, nestled on 35 private acres of serene beauty on Wadmalaw Island. This morning shoot features 2 female models styled to match the ethereal vibe of the location. You’ll have ample time to capture the ambiance as the soft, dreamy light streams through the windows and highlights every detail. After working in the main treehouse, you’ll head outside & also have access to the secondary “amenities deck,” which includes a hot tub, large outdoor tiled shower, and a screened-in lounge with a carved wooden bed & video projector — perfect for capturing unique, creative angles and textures. To keep everyone fueled, I’ll have a breakfast spread ready, including coffee, fresh fruit, pastries, gluten-free & nut-free options, and other breakfast items to enjoy throughout the session! This peaceful, light-filled morning is designed to inspire and give you the perfect start to your creative day!

This evening session begins just before sunset, giving you the chance to capture the warm, golden glow of golden hour as it softly transitions into twilight. The set is beautifully styled with fresh flowers, glowing string lights, and charming place settings to set a dreamy mood. Every detail is designed to feel timeless and elegant, giving you plenty of opportunities to create memorable, portfolio-worthy shots at one of Charleston’s most picturesque venues. To make the evening even sweeter, I’ll have refreshments on hand, including sparkling beverages, energy drinks, gluten-free treats, and a variety of desserts to enjoy as you soak up the ambiance of the final session. RESERVE YOUR SESSION PASS
Ready to create? Booking your spot for a shoots by soph content day is simple!
Start by deciding how many shoots you’d like to join — you can choose from a
1 Session Pass, a 2 Session Pass, or the All-Access Pass (3 Sessions).
Once you’ve made your decision, select the appropriate pass from the appointment list to begin your booking.
During the booking process, you’ll see an add-on section where you can customize your day by selecting the shoot(s) you’d like to participate in.
For example, “add-on” one shoot time for the 1 Session Pass, two shoot times for the 2 Session Pass, or all three shoot times for the All-Access Pass. Don’t worry — there’s no extra charge for this step! The “add-on” option is just how we let you pick your perfect schedule.
Once your selections are made, complete your booking to secure your spot!

WILL THERE BE OPPORTUNITIES TO NETWORK?
Definitely! I also create a group chat prior to the event so you can connect with other participants, ask questions, and build relationships before the shoot even begins.
CAN I BOOK MULTIPLE
SHOOTS?
Absolutely! You can join for one, two, or all three styled sessions of the day based on your interests, schedule, and portfolio goals.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE AT EACH SESSION?
Each session is limited to a maximum of 6 photographers or videographers, ensuring plenty of space and time to create without feeling crowded.
WHAT SHOULD
I BRING?
Pack your camera, lenses, extra batteries, memory cards, & any favorite gear — everything else is taken care of! Be sure to wear an outfit & shoes you’re comfortable in!
WHAT IF THE WEATHER DOESN’T COOPERATE?
Don’t worry — I’ll always have a backup plan, and will keep you updated if any changes are needed.
